This piece is titled "Winter Song". It reminds me of the winter walks I have taken outside of my Aunt's village in Germany. The depth and intensity is achieved through carving into the layered wax.
This piece is titled "Squall". I'm using a lighter hand with the color and a more abstract style.
This piece is titled "Harmony". This is done in my landscape style with layering of color and using a heat torch to move the wax to find the subject.

Amy K Drew
Julie Eggers
Nicholas Goodman
Bunny Huggins
Karl Kaiser
Susanne Kelly
JoAnn LeVee
Kay Myers

This is a piece hanging currently at the church called "The Grove". This was an interesting piece to do, lots of layers and experimenting with different instruments for carving.

I'm a member of the local chapter of IEA and we meet once a month to discuss upcoming shows, get feedback on our work and do projects. This month we were all supposed to do something relating to dessert. I decided to make this piece entirely out of wax (except for the inside of the cupcake, which is a block of wood). It turned out to be really fun to make and has me thinking of other ways I could use this concept. The plate is wax as well.
