Green Series

I am working on a series of carved pieces for the Irvington Invitational Art Exhibition 5, August 19th & 20. In these pieces, I am exploring deep layers and carving and I particularly like the variations of green and yellow.

Can you tell.....it's been a little busy?

All right, as you can see from the date of my last post, it has been a little busy. The great news is that I am now focused full-time on my art. I plan to keep the blog updated, so visit often to see work in progress, upcoming shows and other things I am working on. You can also keep tabs through my website and through facebook.
Be back soon,
Karl

This piece is titled "Winter Song". It reminds me of the winter walks I have taken outside of my Aunt's village in Germany. The depth and intensity is achieved through carving into the layered wax.
This piece is titled "Squall". I'm using a lighter hand with the color and a more abstract style.
This piece is titled "Harmony". This is done in my landscape style with layering of color and using a heat torch to move the wax to find the subject.
